Fire-retardant paints on the metal structure

During the last 70 years fire protection of structures is inherently connected for the sake of the improvement of fire-prevention standards, on the means of an increase in the actual fire resistance of structures and for the sake of reduction in the combustibility of the materials of the propagation of fire on them.

Before the contemporary practice of building wide acceptance obtained the metal constructions, which possess high strength, relative ease, longevity. However, under the action of high temperatures with the fire they are deformed, they lose the stability, which carries ability. Their deformation and loss of the bearing capacity as a result of fire leads down caving of building. Therefore fire protection of the metal constructions, utilized before the building, is one of the vital problems of an increase in the fire resistance of buildings and construction.

These circumstances, and also large number of people, which are located before the accomodations, specify the need of applying the package of measures for fire protection of the component parts of such critical piece as high-rise building.

Thus, fire protection of constructions is the component part of the general system of measures for the guarantee of fire safety and fire resistance of the objects of building.

At present there are three types of the fire-retardant coatings:

  1. Closegrained coatings
  2. Closegrained distending themselves coatings
  3. Coatings

The application of paints, which form closegrained coatings, is most common before the practice of fire protection of the metal structures of buildings. Our compositions satisfy the requirements of fire protection, ecology (slide with the certificates) and operation of structures, but so they do not worsen the aesthetics of the materials of utilized in the accomodations for the finishing interiors.

“[UNIPOL]- FIREPROOF”, substituted down the steel columns of double-T profile cross section № 60 (given thickness of metal 7,4 mm) with the thickness is not less than 2,45 mm and the expenditure of 3,5 kg/sq. m. ensures the limit of fire resistance not less than 1,5 hours.
