Protection of concrete. Waterproofing

Before the practice of contemporary building one of the leading places among the building materials, undoubtedly, occupies reinforced concrete. There is no sense to transfer the positive characteristics of this material. However, this structural special feature as porosity is one of the most essential deficiencies in the concrete and many other mineral building materials. Porosity specifies the ability of material to absorb moisture. The accumulation of moisture is the reason for different damages of the structures of those prepared based on the concrete, the brick, the natural stone, since water transports aggressive substances and creates conditions for the destructive chemical, physical and biological processes.

The action of water beyond the construction occurs constantly in the form:

  • surface water (atmospheric precipitations)
  • the filtrational water
  • ground water, which are always present before ground and it is retained before it by capillary forces. Being located at the reduced pressure this form of water it can penetrate the construction, rising upward under the effect of the capillary forces.
  • pressurized water (if before the construction it is present standing water)
  • hygroscopic moisture.

Besides the straight damage to the construction construction of in the form flooded basements, the roofs taking place and damp accomodations, the water serves as a reason for the destruction of concrete and corrosion of reinforcement, t [k] together with the water beside the concrete they enter water-soluble chemical compounds - sulfates, nitrates, chlorides so forth furthermore, as a result the process of freezing- thawing before the concrete appear the cracks, through which increases the speed of the penetration of moisture.

[SBE]-111 “OF [UNIPOL]” ® waterproofing possesses outstanding adhesion to the concrete, which excludes the need of applying priming or other compositions during the putting. Materials research [SBE]-111 “OF [UNIPOL]” ® waterproofing, carried out before the institute of concrete and reinforced concrete (NIIZhB (Scientific Research Institute of Concrete and Reinforced Concrete)) showed that putting the system of the coating [SBE]-111 “[UNIPOL]” ® the waterproofing beyond the concrete makes it possible to increase the stamp of concrete before the waterproofness as far as 7 steps at a straight pressure of water and against 2 steps with the reverse, to increase frost resistance is more than 2,5 times, to reduce the value of water absorption of concrete 2 times in comparison with the concrete without the protection. Thus, because of its outstanding characteristics and high performance properties priming enamel [SBE]-111 “OF [UNIPOL]” ® waterproofing is [rekomendovana] for the anticorrosive protection of the underground parts of the construction, sunk placements, foundations, walls, columns, and also roofings and different equipment. Essential advantage over other moisture-proof materials is [tonkosloynost] of the system of the coating [SBE]-111 “[UNIPOL]” ® waterproofing - 400 m. It is not required to protect based on the atmospheric action after coating only 1 hour after putting.
