Protocol of № OP -26/11-07 of the complex tests of anticorrosive system from the priming enamel [SBE]-111 “OF [UNIPOL]” ® of the stamp OF THE AM

Purpose of the tests:

the estimation of the physicomechanical, shielding and technological properties of priming enamel [SBE]-111 “OF [UNIPOL] " ® of stamp AM, which makes it possible to determine their quality and possibility of use in rail transport.

Models for the tests:

For the tests by the specialized bridge trust “special-bridgetrust” - the branch joint stock company “Of [roszheldorstroy]” presented the model of priming enamel [SBE]-111 “OF [UNIPOL]” ® of stamp AM (TU 2312-001-59846005-2003), chg of №1, №2, which is the suspension of pigments and fillers before the solution of silicone- acrylate composition before the mixture of organic solvents. The suspension of gray color with the insignificant stratification and the sediment, which easily is mixed to the uniformity, № of party 486, the date of the production of 04.04.2007[g].

They were studied:

  • the physical chemistry characteristics of enamels (viscosity, the content of a mass fraction of non-volatile substances, the time of drying on the metal, hiding power,);
  • the painter- technological characteristics: the degree of grinding, expenditure, thickness of the layer, compatability with the old coating.
  • the physicomechanical characteristics of coating (strength with the bend, strength with the impact, adhesion);
  • shielding and chemical characteristics - resistance to the action of aggressive media, climatic factors, water resistance, resistance to the increased humidity, frost resistance, heat resistance.

1. PROCEDURE OF THE STUDY

All types of tests were carried out in accordance with the procedures of complex tests taking into account the operating conditions of railroad bridges. Therefore the physicomechanical characteristics of coating were checked also after heat-aging and tests before the freezer, which gives the possibility to determine the dynamics of a change of the properties of coatings before the process of operation with the sufficiently merciless terms.
The procedure of studies includes the determination of the following indices: the content of a mass fraction of non-volatile substances (the dry residue) - according to GOST 17537, time of drying - according to GOST 19007.
Viscosity - according to GOST 8420, degree of grinding - according to GOST 6589, hiding power - according to GOST 8784, thixotropy - it is visual.
Elasticity with the bend - according to GOST 6806, strength with the impact - according to GOST 4765, adhesion - according to GOST 15140, strength with the bend - according to GOST 6806.
The methods for testing materials and coatings included in procedure are on their basis the following:

  • Viscosity - technological characteristic, the time of continuous expiration in seconds of volume 100 [sm]3 through the metering nozzle with the diameter of 4 mm.
  • The content of non-volatile part (the dry residue) makes it possible to determine a quantity of the dry residue of substance before the paint by the gravimetric method. As far as this index it is possible preliminarily to judge the expenditure of material and formation of mist during the putting.
  • Time of drying - curing process of material, i.e., the time of its transformation beside the film. There are seven degrees of drying from 1 to 7. coating it is considered formed with the degree of drying 3.
  • The degree of grinding (dispersiveness) determined on [grindometre] wedge) on the boundaries of a significant quantity of separate particles and aggregates, seen beyond the surface of the utilized layer.
  • Hiding power was determined by putting material beyond the black and white base layer to the complete painting of boundaries and disappearance of the difference between the black and white surface. With the subsequent weighing and the determination of necessary for this quantity of enamel.
  • Strength film with the bend characterizes its elasticity, i.e., the property, reverse of brittleness. The thinner the rod, on which they bend tin metal with the applied coating, the higher the elasticity of film. Dial face has divisions from 1 to 20[mm].

The physicomechanical properties of coatings were checked after 20 cycles of tests before models.
  • The resistance of coatings to the increased humidity and temperature was determined by the placement of models beside the hydrostat, which imitates the whisker of [loviya] of operation before the moist, by heat the climate in the absence of solar irradiation (humidity 98-100% for 8 clocks with [T]=35-40o[S] and 16 hours - at a temperature of 18-20o[S]).
  • The climate-controlled chamber “Of [feytron]” (Germany), simulates the operating conditions of the coatings before the moist and the dry for the sake of heat climates under the action of solar irradiation with the following cycle of tests:
    1. Formation of mist with the temperature of 27-30o[S], humidity 98-100% and the working fan - 8 hours;
    2. Creation of condensational moisture beyond the surface of models - 16 hours;
    3. Ultraviolet irradiation with the temperature of 27-30o[S], humidity 98-100% and the working fan - 8 hours;
    4. The nonoperating state of camera - 16 hours;
    5. Ultraviolet irradiation with the temperature of 27-30o[S] and the working fan - 8 hours.
Resistance to static action by 3% of solution of chloride sodium, distilled water, of transformer oil and gasoline determined according to GOST 9.403 (method A and c): models descend down 2/3 heights beside the solution at a temperature of 40o[S] for 96 hours.

PREPARATION OF MODELS AT THE POINT OF THE TESTS

Models were prepared according to the following diagram and as follows:

  1. The application of complex coating was produced down the models with the shot-blast surface preparation (with the degree of cleaning 1 according to GOST 9.402).
  2. Blowing by air.
  3. Degreasing (by mineral spirits).
  4. Putting priming enamel [SBE]-111 “OF [UNIPOL]” ® of stamp AM:
    • Working viscosity - 90 s.
    • Quantity of layers - 2.
    • Thickness of the layer - is 70-80 m.
    • Drying (down the degree 3) with [T]=20o[S]:
    • the first layer - 1 hour
    • the second layer - 1,5 hours
Throughout the testing the painted models maintained 7 days.

RESULTS OF TESTS.

The estimation of physical chemistry, painter- technical, physicomechanical and shielding properties was conducted in accordance with the All-Union State Stan.s down the methods for testing.
The estimation of the exterior view of coatings with the tests before the cameras at the point of checking of shielding properties was conducted employing procedure VNIIZhT, developed taking into account requirements ALL-UNION STATE STAN. 9.407 “coatings varnish-and-paint. The method of evaluating the exterior view”, before which by mark 1 is evaluated coating state without the changes, and by mark is 5th the total loss of shielding properties.
The estimation of coating state after testing before 3% solution NaCl, distilled water, transformer oil and gasoline was carried out via comparison for the sake of the control model.
The results of tests regarding the physical chemistry and painter- technical properties of materials, and also the physicomechanical and chemical properties of coatings of them are given before tables 1-3.
Those obtained as a result of tests given attest to the fact that priming enamel [SBE]-111 “OF [UNIPOL]” ® of stamp AM possesses grow prettier by hiding power - 64 [g]/[m]2 (table 1), and also by compatability with the old coating ([tabl].2).
The results of the tests of the physicomechanical properties of the complex coating (2 layers of priming enamel [SBE]-111 “OF [UNIPOL]” ® of stamp AM showed that the initial indices of adhesion (adhesion strength with the metallic base layer) (mark 1 according to GOST 15140), elasticity (1 mm according to GOST 6806), strengths with the impact (50 cm according to GOST 4765) satisfy the requirements, presented down the coatings for rail transport: these indices remain without the change after testing at the point of heat-aging and before the freezer, in spite of the hardness of this complex of tests. Insignificant reduction in the elasticity figure after freezer is not the negative factor (table 3).
The tested system of complex paint and varnish coats from the priming enamel [SBE]-111 “OF [UNIPOL]” ® of stamp AM possesses the high shielding properties, which are evaluated after tests during 30 days before the hydrostat and the climate-controlled chamber “OF FEUTRON” by the mark Of [a]31 (coating they preserved its shielding properties they remained practically without the changes). Is observed only a insignificant change in the color of coating ([tabl].4). CONCLUSIONS:

  1. Presented by the specialized bridge trust “special-bridgetrust” - by the branch joint stock company “Of [roszheldorstroy]” the model of priming enamel [SBE] of -111 “[UNIPOL]” ® of stamp AM (producer: Privately held company “[NPO] [KORRZASHCHITA]”, 105066, Moscow, old [Basmannaya] ul, [d].36, p. 2) about their quality indicators correspond to the requirements of technical specifications and to the requirements, presented down the paint and varnish coats, used on rail transport, namely: it possesses resistance to the static action of water, aggressive media, to the increased humidity and the temperature, to climatic factors.
  2. Coating system from the represented material possesses a good combination of initial physical chemistry, technological, physicomechanical and shielding properties, namely:
    • adhesion - 1 mark;
    • strength with the impact - 50 cm;
    • elasticity - 1 mm;
    • high resistance to the static action of water, 3% of solution NaCl of/[transformatornogo] oil and gasoline, to the action of the increased humidity and temperature - 240 hours.
  3. About the results of climatic testings, carried out in joint stock company of NII (Scientific Research Institute) [LKP] with [OMZ] “Victoria”, g. [Khotkovo] the expected longevity of complex coating due to the conditions of the open atmosphere of the moderate and cold climate ([UKHL]1) according to GOST 9.401 is 12 years.
  4. About the results of tests the represented models of priming enamel [SBE]-111 “OF [UNIPOL]” ® of stamp AM, (thickness of coating not less than 140-160 m) are recommended for the dyeing of railroad bridges, transport metal structures due to the conditions of the open atmosphere of the moderate and cold climate ([UKHL]1).
