Conclusion on testing of the coating [UNIPOL]® V -[Se] of the firm of privately held company “[NPO] “Of [korrzashchita]” for the anticorrosive protection of the external surface of storage tanks of oil and petroleum products

Tests were conducted according to the agreement of № of 4/[pr]-07/13 from 16.04.2007 g. between the privately held company “OF [NPO] “Of [korrzashchita]” and [OOO] “the institute of VNIIST”.

Tested material:

Priming enamel [UNIPOL] V -[Se] beyond the siliconeepoxy basis.
Color of coating - salad.

Purpose of the tests:

Determination of the possibility of applying the coating [UNIPOL] V -[Se] of the firm of privately held company “[NPO] “Of [korrzashchita]” for the anticorrosive protection of the external surface of the reservoirs, intended for storing of oil and petroleum products.

Models for the tests:

  • steel plates with the size of 150x70x4 mm with the bilateral protective coating with a thickness of 100-130 m, average thickness is 115 m;
  • steel plates with the size of 150[kh]60[kh]1,0 mm with the one-sided coating with a thickness of 110-140 m, average thickness is 125 m;
  • steel plates with the size of 100x100x4,0 mm with the bilateral coating with a thickness of 110 and 120 m;
  • the free films of the complex coating with a thickness of 130-170 m; average thickness is 150 m.

Preparation of models and the application of the coating:

They were achieved by a customer.

Conditions of conducting the tests:

  1. Determination of the initial physicomechanical and electrochemical characteristics of coating.
  2. Determination of the resistance of coating to the complex action of climatic factors (30 cycles) ALL-UNION STATE STAN. 9.401, method 8.
  3. Determination of the resistance of coating to heat-aging (60o[S]- 1000 h.) ([ISO] 3248).
  4. Determination of the resistance of coating to the action of highly aggressive crude oil with 40o[S] during 120 h. ([ISO] 2812-1).
  5. Determination of the resistance of coating due to the conditions for the continuous condensation of moisture at a temperature of 40o[S] during 480 h. ([ISO] 6270).
  6. Determination of the resistance of coating to the action of salt fog with (35 ± 2) o[S] during 720 h. (ALL-UNION STATE STAN. 9.401).
  7. Resistance to the action of variable temperatures (+40o[S] * - 60o[S]; 10 cycles; ALL-UNION STATE STAN. 27037).

Table 1 presents the results of the tests of some physicomechanical properties of protective coating.

The represented before Table 1 results correspond to the technical requirements of joint stock company “[AK] “trans-oil”.

The determination of the resistance of coating to the complex action of climatic factors carried out according to GOST 9.401, method 8. regime of tests, the sequence of displacement and the time of holding of models before the apparatuses before one cycle were given before tables 2. carried out 30 cycles.

The results of tests, presented before Table 3, attest to the fact that the shielding and electrochemical properties of coating satisfy the technical requirements of joint stock company “[AK] “trans-oil”, presented down the outer coverings for the anticorrosive protection of storage tanks of oil and petroleum products.

CONCLUSION

Protective coating priming enamel [UNIPOL] V -[Se] the production of the firm of privately held company “[NPO] “Of [korrzashchita]” with the average thickness of 120 m corresponds to the technical requirements rd of 05.00-45.21.30-[KTN]-005-1-05 “the rules of the anticorrosive protection of reservoirs”, by affirmed joint stock company “[AK] “trans-oil”, and is recommended for the anticorrosive protection of the external surface of storage tanks of oil and petroleum products due to the conditions of the industrial atmosphere of the zones of cold and moderate climates far from the rivers and seas (category of atmospheric corrosiveness [s] 3).
