Single-component priming enamel [SBE]-111 “Of [unipol]”, further enamel, is to shale-bituminouselastomeric composition before the hydrocarbon solvents with the mineral fillers.

According to normative documentation beyond the material (TU), the enamel can be used for the protection of constructions through the low-carbon, zinc-coated and stainless steel, aluminum and its alloys.

Enamel is brought at an ambient temperature within the limits: from minus of 10°[S] to plus of 30°[S], relative humidity to 95%.

Is allowed putting by means of the rusty (thickness of the products of corrosion to 100 m.) and moist surface of steel.

Maintain action by 30%HCL, 60%H2SO4, 40%NaOH, the strong the solutions of mineral salts.

On the basis of the characteristic of enamel, are selected the diagrams of surface preparation and the methods for testing this coating.

For the tests enamel was brought down the models by brush or pouring in down the metallic plates through carbon steel Of [st].3 both on that sandblasted and by means of the rusty surface (thickness of the products of corrosion 50-60 m) down 3 layers, the overall thickness of coating 130-140 m.

After endurance of coating during 7 days under laboratory conditions, the models were tested before the aggressive media.

Conducting the tests

1. Laboratory tests.

For the determination of the resistance to static action water at elevated temperatures test specimens they placed beside the vessel with the water, heated to t = of +40°[S] on the water bath for 8 hours, then 16 hours maintained before the same medium with t = + (18±2)°[S]. the duration of the tests of 10 cycles.

As far as a similar achievement of the action of test factors is achieved the acceleration of testing according to ALL-UNION STATE STAN. 51342-99 “the methods for the accelerated length-of-life tests and storability by the action of aggressive and other special media for the technical…”.

After tests was determined the degree of the destruction of coating via the visual inspection of models. In this case are fixed the exterior view of coating, the adhesion, the state of metal under the film. The continuity of coating after endurance before the aggressive medium (hot water) was determined with the aid of the instrument of the flaw detector of electrolytic “constant ED-2”.

The results of tests are represented before the table.

2. Full-scale tests.

The determination of the resistance of enamel due to the atmospheric conditions of industrial site is conducted in accordance with ALL-UNION STATE STAN. 6992-82 “coatings varnish-and-paint. Method for testing at the point of durability due to the atmospheric conditions”.

For determining the chemical resistance of enamel in the atmosphere of potassium production the models are established on the test bench at the [galergicheskoy] factory above the conveyer pos. R -13, moving moist hot refuse, t of air = of 400[S], relative humidity 90%.

The results of tests will be represented in September - October 2002.

Conclusions

Thus, on the basis the results of laboratory tests we consider expedient conducting the experimental-industrial tests of enamel [SBE]-111 “[Unipol]” for the protection of metal structures in joint stock company “Of [uralkaliy]”.
