In April 2002. before “LIK” entered the tests single-component priming enamel [SBE]-111 “OF [UNIPOL]” of stamp B (further enamel).
According to the accompanying normative documentation beyond this paints (TU) the enamel is intended for the protection of the metal structures, which work before the aggressive media; in particular, warehouse accomodations and transport for the transportation of the mineral fertilizers.
It is of interest to determine the possibility of applying this enamel with the protection of metal structures due to the conditions of potassium production.
Purpose of the work: conducting the full-scale tests of models with the paint and varnish coat (priming enamel [SBE]-111 “[UNIPOL]” of stamp b) before the atmosphere of industrial zone and the microclimate of chemical concentrating plant.
For conducting the tests the enamel was brought by brush, down the models from the carbonaceous they became in the form plates the size of 60[kh]90[kh]1,5 mm both on that sandblasted and by means of the rusty surface. The thickness of the products of corrosion and the thickness of coating are indicated before Table 1.
After endurance of coating during 7 days under laboratory conditions the models underwent tests.
Conducting the full-scale tests The determination of the resistance of enamel in the atmosphere of industrial zone was conducted in accordance with ALL-UNION STATE STAN. 6992-68. “Coatings are varnish-and-paint. Method for testing at the point of durability due to the atmospheric conditions”.
For the determination of the resistance of enamel before the microclimate of chemical concentrating plant (action the aerosols of sodium chlorides and potassium with the increased humidity of air) the models were established on the test bench above the transport pos. R -13, moving the hot refuse (sodium chloride). Duration of the tests of 137 days (3288 hours).
After the tests of models coating state was evaluated in appearance, to the signs of corrosion beyond the surface of models.
The estimation of physicomechanical properties was produced past a change in the adhesion before and after of tests. Adhesion was determined according to GOST 15140-78 as far as the method of lattice cuts. The continuity of coating was determined with the aid of the instrument of the flaw detector of electrolytic “constant ED-2”.
The results of tests are represented before Table 1.
Results of the testing As a result the inspection of models after tests is noted the satisfactory state of coating (before all regimes of tests) about the decorative, shielding properties and the estimation of the physicomechanical properties:
- The continuity of coating is not disrupted
- Adhesion is satisfactory (1 mark).

Conclusions Thus, on the basis the results of full-scale tests we consider expedient the fulfillment of experimental-industrial sections by priming enamel “OF [UNIPOL]” for the protection of metal structures in joint stock company “Of [uralkaliy]”.
