Examining the possible diagrams of shielding and repair coating for the metal structures on [BBT] (g. Of [s].[Peterburg]), we selected for the accelerated tests the under laboratory conditions following diagram of the varnish-and-paint compositions:

  1. Priming [EP]-0263 “[s]” - 1 layer, the enamel [SBE]-111 “Of [unipol]” - 2 layers

Priming [EP]-0263 “[s]” adapts for the protection at the point of the interoperational period of steel articles, and also for the prolonged protection of articles before the systems of paint and varnish coats.

The accordingly selected diagrams, coating was brought down the models made from carbon steel, preliminarily sandblasted and degreased.

After the polymerization of coating under laboratory conditions (t=20±2°[S]) the models were tested at the point of static action of water (at elevated temperatures) and acid (H2SO4).

Conducting the tests:

  1. Laboratory test at the point of resistance to the static action of water are at elevated temperatures carried out according to GOST 9.083-78 “coatings varnish-and-paint. Methods for length-of-life tests before the liquid media”.

The test specimens they placed beside the capacity with the distilled water and heated to t=60±0,5°C, on the water bath for 8 hours, then 16 hours maintained before the same medium with t=20±2°C, which composes 1 cycle. Duration of the tests of 10 cycles (240 hours).

At the point of the criterion of evaluation of the quality of protective coating starts the index of adhesion on the 4th to the scale-number scale ALL-UNION STATE STAN. 15140-78, visual changes in the exterior view of coating and the state of metal under the varnish-and-paint film.

The results of testing are given before Table 1.

  1. Tests at the point of resistance to the static action of acids are carried out according to GOST 9.403-80 “coatings varnish-and-paint. Methods for testing at the point of resistance to the static action of liquids”.

The test specimens were maintained before 5% solution of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) for 30 hours.

After testing a change in the decorative and shielding properties of the coatings for the sake of comparison for the sake of the control model is determined, it is visual.

Adhesion is determined according to GOST 15140-78.

Conclusions:

  1. About the results of the carried out accelerated tests the best indices in the models of the diagram: (Priming [EP]-0263 “[s]”, the enamel “OF [UNIPOL]”) coating plastic, has satisfactory adhesion after testing at the point of resistance to the static action of water, sulfuric acid.

For the more objective evaluation the full-scale tests of coatings are conducted.
